Harbin Taiping International Airport is 40 km from downtown area. It has flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Shenyang, Dalian, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Guilin and more destinations in China. While Harbin West Railway Station has high speed trains linking Harbin with Beijing (7~8 hrs), Jilin (2 hrs), Shenyang (2.5~3 hrs), Dalian, Shanghai, etc.

Evening Ideas:

In this evening, you can get to Zhaolin Park with the largest scale of outdoor ice lantern show in the world. (Please note: it holds every year from January 5^th to the end of February. Please wear warm done coat and shoes when visiting it at night.)

Today's tour begins to visit the Sun Island Scenic Resort, which is a major venue of Ice and Snow Festival located north Harbin right by the Songhua River. It is a popular recreational zone with a Russian-style town, some small lakes, several exquisite gardens as well as various interesting galleries and museums. When winter comes, this snow-covered land is also the best place to appreciate the amazing snow and ice sculptures. While in hot seasons, it is a perfect summer resort.

Then, visit the nearby Siberian Tiger Park, the largest breeding center in the world for endangered Siberian Tigers. You’ll not only pay a safe walk to observe different kinds of tigers (Siberian Tigers, White Tigers, Snow Tiger, Liger, Jaguar), but also take a bus with wire-mesh protection through the park to closely see the tigers and take some photos.

After dinner, you will head to the amazing Ice and Snow World, the highlights of Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, to appreciate the magical and extraordinary ice lanterns and sculptures with colorful lights at night. Please wear enough layers of proper clothes and warm shoes to keep you away from the freeze especially when you want to stay here longer to enjoy the beautiful scenery.)

Note: 1) The open time of Ice and Snow Festival is not fixed, but it usually lasts about 2 months from late December to early March. The Ice and Snow world is only open during the festival. 2) An indoor Ice and Snow Paradise with smaller scale is built in the scenic area of the Ice and Snow World, and tourists could also enjoy the ice and snow there as well when the festival ends.

You will firstly visit St. Sophia Church, the landmark of Harbin. Built in 1907, this church is the largest Orthodox Church in Far East in Byzantine style. Now, it is used as “Harbin Architectural Art Gallery”. Looking from outside, you can appreciate the splendid structure with red bricks and circular domes. Getting into the church, you can learn history, culture and future development of Harbin.

Close to the church, you’ll then visit the exotic Zhongyang Pedestrian Street which is a long corridor of European architectures with 71 buildings in different styles with long history standing by.

Afterwards, pay a visit to Stalin Park, located aside of Songhua River. Feel the charm of Russian architectures and enjoy many creative artistic sculptures. After that, you can watch winter swimming performances, and can also take part in the local ice activities, like ice sloping, ice boating, etc.
